Whenever you feel weird or out of place, remember: just as the human body becomes ill in other areas of the body, such as the heart, so the human brain can suffer disorder. You are not alone in your struggle and you are completely normal.
You are alright, no matter what you are struggling with. This isn’t self-help rhetoric; this is truth. You’re not a freak, you’re not a loser, and you’re certainly not alone in this fight.
Today, wherever you are, I hope you can give yourself grace, accepting that you are not perfect, but neither is anyone else who has ever walked this planet. Your life is incredibly important and you have so much hope in front of you.
You’re not a freak.
You’re an image-bearer of the Beginning and the End – God – the Daddy who has brought us redemption in Jesus. Our flesh and decaying bodies may fail us, but our spirits are invited to the life that renews our souls day by day.
You’re a spiritual being suffering from a physical disorder. You’re more than your struggles.
You’re OK. Keep hoping, keep dreaming, and fall into the arms of grace.
